Industrial Hemp to Be Platformed at Cannabis World Congress in New York

Thought-Leadership Panel on “Industrial Hemp: Made in America” & Pavilion Key Features at CWCBExpo NY

(Paramus, NJ, June 2016)— Industrial hemp is a fiber and oil-seed crop with deep roots in American history, being re-introduced in more than 27 states in the US, including New York. The Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition (CWCBExpo) will now provide businesses with current information, resources, products and services for the entire cannabis plant with the addition of dedicated education and exhibit area on industrial hemp. Taking place June 15-17, 2016, at the Javits Convention Center in New York, CWCBExpo is the leading forum for the evolving medical marijuana and legalized cannabis industry and is proud to include the tremendous opportunities for industrial hemp.

The Thought-Leadership Panel: “Industrial Hemp: Made in America,” taking place on Friday, June 17, at 11:00 am, will discuss the multi-billion dollar economic benefits of this crop and explain why the investment community, federal legislative and consumers need to support sustainable, non-drug industrial hemp as a national industry.

Moderated by Geoff Whaling, Board Member of the National Hemp Association and President of the Pennsylvania Hemp Industry Council, “Industrial Hemp: Made in America” panelists include:

  • Michael Bowman, Chairman, National Hemp Association
  • Tim Gordon, COO, CBDRx
  • Andrew Graves, Chairman, Atalo Holdings, Inc.
  • Jonathan Miller, President, Kentucky Industrial Hemp
  • Joel Stanley, CEO, CW Hemp
  • Eric Steenstra, Executive Director, Hemp Industry Association and Vote Hemp

This high-level panel of America’s leaders of this industry will also enlighten attendees on the developments and achievements of the industry for the 2016 growing season, while looking at ways to build a national “Made in America” industry.

In addition to the “Industrial Hemp: Made in America” panel, CWCBExpo NY will also have an Industrial Hemp Pavilion on the exhibit floor, showcasing the latest product innovations as well as leading resources for this vital American crop. The BMW i Series will also be on display in the pavilion. These all-electric vehicles use sustainable crops, including industrial hemp and eucalyptus fibers, in many of the car components including the dash, seats, and instrument and door panels, making the vehicles lighter in weight and extending their range.

“People have cultivated cannabis sativa, an annual herbaceous plant in the cannabis genus, throughout recorded history as a source of industrial fiber, seed oil, food, recreation, clothing and medicine. Today, there are more then 10,000 acres in America in production, which will go a long way to offset the more then $600 million imported into America annually. There are many exciting industrial uses that include building, automotive and composite materials, and at CWCBExpo NY we will educate attendees on how HEMP Means Business,” said Geoff Whaling.

“The cannabis industry is dynamic and CWCBExpo’s mission is to evolve with the industry and be the leading educational and product resource for all things cannabis. On the heels of National Hemp History Week, we are thrilled to host this forward-looking panel on Industrial Hemp and to platform the wide array of industrial hemp applications,” added Christine Ianuzzi, Show Director of CWCBExpo NY.

In addition to the Thought-Leadership panel on Industrial Hemp, a CWCBExpo conference session on Friday, June 17th, will also discuss: “Nutritional Benefits of Industrial Hemp / Industrial Hemp Seed.” Keynote addresses by Keith Stroup of NORML and Leonard Marshall, Super Bowl Champion will also be part of CWCBExpo NY, along with another thought-leadership panel on “CTE, Concussion and CBD” hundreds of exhibits, over 100 speakers and more than 70 sessions with vetted industry experts and innovators in the CWCBExpo NY conference (June 16-17). Sessions tracks are focused on Creating Your Business, Running Your Business, High Finance, Opportunities, and Trends in High Growth Areas. Add-on Workshops providing in-depth information on starting a business and operations, careers, and capital investment will take place on June 15th & 18th.
