Football Legend Jim McMahon Joins All-Star Sports Panel on CTE, Concussion and CBD at Cannabis World Congress New York

(Paramus, NJ, June 2016)—Cannabis World Congress & Business Exposition (CWCBExpo) is pleased to announce that Jim McMahon, former quarterback with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers and two time Super Bowl Champion will be joining its Thought-Leadership Panel on June 16th at the Javits Center in New York. Entitled “CTE, Concussion and CBD,” and co-presented by CW™ Hemp and Brain Unity Trust, this all star sports panel composed of former players from the NFL and NHL is intended to advance the discussion on how the use of cannabinoids, specifically CBD, may help treat and prevent the onset of symptoms associated with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and traumatic brain injury.

The panel will be moderated by football great Leonard Marshall, who will be joined with Jim McMahon, and former professional football players Nate Jackson, Charlie Adams, and Eben Britton as well as professional hockey enforcer Riley Cote. Other panelists include Heather Jackson, CEO of the Realm of Caring Foundation and Marcel O. Bonn-Miller, Ph.D., of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine

“These strong athletes had extremely successful playing careers with major football and hockey teams such as the NY Giants, NY Jets, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and Philadelphia Eagles. Their experiences with dealing with multiple concussions and alleviating pain and the symptoms of CTE, will make for a highly engaging and informative panel,” said Christine Ianuzzi, Show Director, CWCBExpo and Managing Partner, Leading Edge Expositions.

Following the CTE, Concussion and CBD discussion, the professional athlete panelists will be available for autographs and photos at the CW™ Hemp and Brain Unity Trust booths on the CWCBExpo NY exhibit floor. CW™ Hemp has been instrumental in bringing national attention to this issue, and has partnered with the Realm of Caring Foundation and Johns Hopkins University to launch “When the Bright Lights Fade,” a campaign to raise funds for a series of studies exploring how the use of cannabinoids can help professional athletes who are at risk for traumatic brain injury.

Keynote addresses by Keith Stroup of NORML and Leonard Marshall, Super Bowl Champion will also be part of CWCBExpo NY, along with thought-leadership panels on “CTE, Concussion and CBD;” “Industrial Hemp: Made in America,” hundreds of exhibits, over 100 speakers and more than 70 sessions with vetted industry experts and innovators in the CWCBExpo NY conference (June 16-17). Sessions tracks are focused on Creating Your Business, Running Your Business, High Finance, Opportunities, and Trends in High Growth Areas. Add-on Workshops providing in-depth information on starting a business and operations, careers, and capital investment will take place on June 15th & 18th.
