Kate Bell Esq.

Kate M. Bell, Esq. is a legislative counsel at the Marijuana Policy Project. She joined the staff of MPP in December 2015 and is responsible for its work in D.C., Idaho, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, South Dakota, and Wyoming. She serves as a resource for state legislators, the press, and the public and tracks marijuana legislation in all of those states, and is a lobbyist and organizer in several of them. Her marijuana policy interests include expungement of prior offenses and the intersection of marijuana policy and the opiate crisis. Prior to joining MPP, Ms. Bell was an attorney in private practice based in Baltimore, Maryland, practicing primarily criminal defense as well as civil rights and appellate work. Ms. Bell graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.
