Mr. Bill Downing
Bill Downing has been a medical marijuana patient since 1985 when he found marijuana helped control pain from his horrific gout problem. In 1990 Bill joined and was elected President of MASS CANN/NORML, the oldest and largest drug policy reform organization in the northeast USA, and he has remained an officer of that organization ever since then. Bill’s research of medical cannabis also began in 1990. In 2004 Bill’s eldest son was diagnosed with Tourette’s and OCD. After years of terribly damaging and ineffectual pharmaceuticals leading to his hospitalization, Bill’s son was weaned-off pharmaceuticals and found cannabidiol or CBD as the only effective treatment to control ticking (involuntary movement and speech) caused by Tourette’s. In January 2013, when medical cannabis was allowed in Massachusetts, Bill started Yankee Caregivers and began providing medicinal cannabis to qualified patients.
