George is a veteran communications professional and local business expert. He was editor of the Boston Business Journal from 2000-2014, where he led the BBJ newsroom to several national awards. In 2016 he published The Boston Economy: Understanding and Accessing One of the World’s Greatest Job Markets, a primer for local colleges and young professionals. He was a vice president at Northwind Strategies, where he led communications strategy for nonprofits and corporate clients, and his work since has continued to span into renewable energy, marijuana policy, financial services, and education reform. His op-eds on public policy have appeared in the Boston Globe, CommonWealth magazine and other publications. He teaches a course on the Boston economy at Suffolk University and is a board member of the Asia Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK).
